Xolo from the Náhuatl language and translates to “monster”
a vibrant mexican spot in the heart of Cristchurch.

At Xolo, our passion is sharing fresh, delicious food inspired by over two decades in the kitchen. Carlos, a well-known chef from Chile, and Karla from Mexico met while working in a Christchurch Mexican restaurant, and now bring together authentic Mexican flavours with a New Zealand twist. Using the best local ingredients, we create vibrant dishes like mouth-watering tacos, hearty enchiladas, and refreshing drinks, from classic margaritas to inventive non-alcoholic options.

We’ve designed Xolo to be a welcoming spot for everyone—families, friends, or a quick solo bite. More than a meal, we want each visit to feel like a celebration of good food, good company, and great conversation.
